Raven "Ray" Maverick Wilder is the 16-year-old daughter of Mercury, the Roman God of boundaries, roads, travellers, merchants, commerce, thieves, cunning, wit, athletics, speed, shepherds, orators, language, heralds, messages, gambling, alchemy and philosophy. She is one of Juno's prophesied Eight to fight against Gaia as part of The Argo 2 crew. Ray was a member of The Twelfth Legion and a Centurion of the Fifth Cohort alongside her friend Jason Grace. She is now the Ambassador of Rome to the Greeks and Pontifex Maximus since Jason's death

Birth[]
Raven was born to Victoria Aspen Wilder and Mercury the Roman God of boundaries, roads, commerce, speed, cunning, wit, sleep, communication, philosophy and alchemy, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, on July 16th, 1994. Mercury told Victoria of his true identity and informed her that eventually, Raven would have to go to The Wolf House to begin her journey to a safe Camp for Roman demigods, Camp Jupiter.
Raven would be raised by Victoria and her grandmother Louisa Wilder nee Jackson, the sister of Jim Jackson. This made Raven directly related to her future ally Percy Jackson, the duo being second cousins. From time-to-time, Raven would be babysat by a woman name June Kalens - the goddess Juno in disguise.
Mothers death[]
Raven grew up with Victoria in Canada, learning the basics from her mother. Victoria constantly assured Raven that her father was alive and that he was watching over her. However tragedy would strike in Raven's life as when Victoria took a 3-year-old Raven to the mountainside where she had met Mercury, the mountain would crumble and Victoria would be killed. Raven survived her inborn demigod powers allowing her to teleport to the safety of her home. Raven would later learn this incident had been an act of the earth goddess Gaia attempting to remove the powerful daughter of Mercury from life before she could become a threat.
The Wolf House[]
Later that very night a pack of wolves arrived at the door of the Wilder residence. Louisa, already knowing of the existence of the gods from the acts of Juno and from her niece Sally Jackson giving birth to a child of Poseidon, tearfully bid farewell to her granddaughter and let the wolves guide Raven away from Canada and on the long journey to The Wolf House in California. There Raven met Jason Grace her future ally and close friend. The two trained together under Lupa the wolf goddess and learnt how to work together and act as a team. Lupa deemed them cubs and worthy warriors of Rome, leading the two children to Camp Jupiter where they were immediately brought into the legion, together joining The Fifth Cohort determined to make it from the worst into the best.
Life at Camp Jupiter[]
Joining the Fifth Cohort[]
At only 3 years old, Jason and Raven both ended up joining The Twelfth Legion. While they were both offered a place in other Cohorts (First for Jason and Second for Raven), the two friends wanted to remain together and joined The Fifth Cohort. The duo worked their way up in the legion, determined to make The Fifth Cohort from "the worst" into the best. The duo would accompany each other on quests and together start to transform The Fifth Cohort.
Promotion and quests[]
Raven and Jason at merely 12 years old each, would both be promoted to Centurions of The Fifth Cohort and Raven would become a senator for the cohort. They would accompany each other on many quests, retrieving the spear of Mars in San Bernardino, infiltrating the base of Saturn at Mount Tam, slaying the cyclops Polyphemus and working together to slay The Trojan Sea Monster. Working together for so many years brought the duo close together, considering each other siblings. Around this time, both demigods received gifts from their godly fathers as a reward for their loyalty to The Gods and Olympus. Jason received a golden coin that became either an Imperial Gold gladius or a lance, depending on what side it came up. Raven received a Olympian Silver ring decorated with intertwined snakes, that expanded into a falcata sword.
Meeting Reyna Ramirez-Arellano[]
When Jason and Raven were 12 they met Reyna Ramirez-Arellano, a daughter of the war goddess Bellona. The trio would become incredibly close, going on quests together and making them a strong team. Jason and Reyna shared an interest in Diocletian and Raven agreed to accompany them across the forbidden Mare Nostrum to Dalmatia if they ever set off through the dangerous ancient seas. The trio would battle against The Trojan Sea Monster, battled against the Titan Hyperion, journeyed through The Labyrinth of Daedalus to strike against Saturn's army base in the south.
Dating Reyna[]
When they were 14 years old, Raven and Reyna formed a romantic relationship, starting to date and enjoying each others company. They received some hate from their fellow legionnaires for being a same sex couple but their friends supported them and the two supported each other through struggles and personal problems, trusting each other and confiding secrets in each other. Raven's relationship with Reyna had other struggles however, as Reyna had recently been promoted to Praetor while Raven was still of the dual Centurion/Senator rank, meaning Reyna outranked her girlfriend.
Quest to Charleston[]
Six months after they started dating, Reyna and Raven, accompanied by Jason journeyed to Charleston for a quest to salvage imperial gold torpedoes from the C.S.S Hunley. The two went to the battery and they saw something in the park. They thought it was a Southern Belle from the civil war, but every time they tried to approach it, it disappeared. Reyna decided to go talk to the ghost alone. When she came back, she was shaken, she broke up with Raven on the spot, with no explanation except "it's neither you nor me Ray" and never acted the same about her or Jason.
Raven wouldn't learn until almost 3 years later why Reyna had broken up with her, after meeting Venus in Charleston and being told how no-one would've been able to heal Reyna's heart. In the intervening time before she met Venus, Raven and Reyna grew apart, Reyna pulling away due to heartbreak and Raven turned upset and hurt after the sudden rejection and destruction of her relationship
The Second Titanomachy[]
Raven helped Jason and their fellow Fifth Cohort member Dakota lead their soldiers into war against The Titans base on Mount Othrys where Jason and Raven ended up in single combat with Titans. Jason fought, defeated and killed, Crius the Titan of Constellations, sending him to Tartarus to reform. Raven battled against Polus, using her demigod powers and skills to defeat and kill the Titan. Jason toppled Saturn's throne and Raven led the cheer to promote Jason to Praetor. Alongside Jason's promotion Raven took on a new job as Ambassador of Mercury. Dakota and Gwen a 10 year member of the legion became the two Centurions of The Fifth Cohort as well as replacing Raven and Jason as Senators. Raven would still be allowed to attend senate meetings as her father's ambassador, but her role kept her away from camp for a while, as her father had her escorting demigods to The Wolf House to start their journey. Raven spent two months doing this, from August to October until she received information that Jason had vanished. She returned to Camp Jupiter and started to act as a guardian of the Camp.
