History[]

Early life[]

Anastazja Skawińska was born on April 29th, 1993 to Lidia Skawińska, a would-be actress, and Dionysus, Greek god of wine and theater. Lidia was born in 1971 in Poland, and when she was twenty, she emigrated to New York, where she worked as a waitress and tried to become an actress. As a mortal who couldn’t see through the Mist, when Lidia met Dionysus she thought he was someone famous, as he looked like a moviestar. They had an affair and when Lidia found she was pregnant, she came back to Poland.

For the time of the pregnancy Lidia lived with her parents, and later, after giving birth to Nastia, they moved to the city. Due to her job and taking courses, Nastia spent much time with her grandparents. Her grandfather abused alcohol, making Nastia scared of it from a young age.

Nastia always felt different from other kids, as she struggled in school and couldn’t sit still, having her attention on everything around her. She also saw things other people didn’t, but they didn’t want to believe her imagination.

Life abroad the ocean[]

Although Lidia never pursued her dreams and didn’t become an actress, she had a quite fine life. As she thought that staying in Poland would give her daughter no prospects, in 1999, when Nastia was six, and she was twenty eight, they emigrated to Lewistown, occasionally visiting their homeland during summer vacation.

In the United States, Nastia felt even more alienated, due to not knowing the language and being a demigoddess. She locked herself in her own imaginary world, preferring to spend time alone, and missing her grandma and friends from Poland. Also, in Lewistown more unusual things started happening to her, making her even more uneasy.

Problems has started[]

Year 1999 and 2000 was hard for both of them. Lidia was fired from the bank, and struggled to find a new job, while Nastia had problems in school. Since she had a daughter she needed to take care of, Lidia never turned to any stimulants. Instead, she contemplated her problems in silence. Nastia isolated herself from her mother, doing the same thing. Her demigod’s powers also had some effect on Lidia, although they had no idea about it.

Year later Lidia finally got her life together. She started working in a boutique, and after some time she started dating a fine man she met in a club about a few months ago. Jacob Clark was working as an accountant, and also had a child from a previous marriage, Mason, who at the time was five. Although they both were nice to her, Nastia couldn't like them as they liked her, feeling like an unfitting piece of the puzzle of their perfect life. She also couldn't forgive her mother for the life she got from her when Lidia was struggling financially.

Lidia and Jacob finally got married in May 2003. She took his surname, which made Nastia stop feeling like a part of the family. They moved closer to the city centre, and about a year later, in February, Lidia and Jacob welcomed their new kid, Evelyn. There is no need to say how Nastia felt.

Running away[]

Despite her age, Nastia showed no she showed no signs of being a demigod. She wasn't aware of being a daughter of the god, although she was aware of the fact that weird things keep happening to her. In July 2005, when Nastia couldn't stand her life anymore, she ran away. Police started an investigation but they couldn’t find her.

Nastia decided to go West, deep into the country. Being on her own, she was quickly attacked by a monster, but she couldn't find any logical explanation for that. In September she met two other demigods, twins Miles and Margot Barry, who ran away together from an orphanage. They were unclaimed children of Nemesis and a mortal lawyer, who gave them up for adoption quickly after their birth. As they were a few years older than Nastia, at the age of fourteen, they already knew of the dangers of demigod life. It was them who introduced her to the gods' world and slowly made her hate their parents. After a few months, in October, when they was in Keeseville, New York, they met another demigod, Alabaster Torrington, who at the time was eleven, and another person was added to their runaways team.

Fate of demigod[]

Unfortunately, their apparent happiness was destroyed, when Margot died fighting against the monster. Following Alabaster's dream about Camp Half Blood, sent by his mother, they headed there under the guidance of Hecate, although, considering their anti-gods view, caused by the neglect of their godly parents and death of their friend, they weren't sure about it.

In the beginning of December, when Nastia, Miles and Alabaster were near Glens Falls, New York, they were found by both a satyr and a monster. Nastia was injured and she was about to cross the river Styx, when she was suddenly changed into a grapevine. Miles and Alabaster were taken to the Camp, whereas Nastia, to survive fatal wounds, was trapped in the seedling of grapevine. In March next year she came back to life. She found herself alone, and despite being in the same body (which didn’t seem to age or change, except her skin in a place where she was wounded seemed to be more purple) she felt like it wasn’t belonging to her. While trying to find her friends, she recalled they went to Camp Half Blood. Nastia had two options - go to her old house in Lewistown or to the Camp, and the choice was easy.

Camp Half Blood[]

Nastia came to Camp Half Blood in April 2006. During her journey, she was haunted by weird dreams sent by Kronos about his rising Army. Nastia already had a negative opinion about the gods, considering what kind of parents they were, and her experience in Camp didn’t help to change her mind. Despite being in a better situation than other demigods as she was almost immediately claimed by her father, Dionysus, whom she saw every day, she still held a grudge towards the gods. In Camp, Nastia reunited with Alabaster and Miles, who were stuck in Hermes Cabin.

Life in Camp was pretty peaceful. Nastia learned how to fight with a sword and dagger, although her favorite - because of sentiment - weapon was still an axe. She also discovered her new powers and improved them thanks to her half siblings, Castor and Pollux. Despite the feeling of still missing something, Nastia for the first time in a very long time felt like home.

Nastia befriended Jeannie Wright, daughter of Hephaestus, and Ethan Nakamura, one of many unclaimed kids. She also became friends with Luke Castellan, whom she didn’t know was working for Kronos. He slowly began to plant resentment in campers towards their parents, which quickly turned into anger. When at the end of August it turned out Luke was in alliance with Titan Lord to overthrow the gods and avenge demigods, many kids followed him. Among them were Alabaster and Ethan, and also Nastia who tried to convince Jeannie to run away with her, but it was a vain effort.

Life in Titan Army[]

In December 2007 Nastia and Chris Rodriguez were sent on a mission in Labyrinth to find the entrance to Camp Half Blood. During their journey they were driven to insanity by king Minos. They got lost in the maze, condemned for maniac visions of Ghost King, but eventually they stumbled across Clarisse La Rue, who was also sent to the mission to explore the Labyrinth. She tried to help them, nevertheless they ran away, appearing near her mother’s house in Phoenix, Arizona, in April next year. Mrs. La Rue managed to help Chris, but Nastia ran away, delving into dark corridors again.

Despite being the daughter of the god of madness, and having some control over it, she wasn’t more resistant to Minos’ powers than Chris. Overcome by insanity, she wasn’t very aware of what was happening around her. She stumbled across Sphinx, but instead of answering her riddles, Nastia simply attacked it, which resulted in a broken ankle and injured monster. Eventually, she was found by a group of campers - Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase and the rest, who had just seen Pan. All Nastia could do against them was fainting due to broken bone and tiredness.

Out of Labyrinth[]

They took her back to Camp Half Blood, which was preparing for the battle. There her ankle was cured unlike her mental state, which had to wait a few days for the arrival of Nastia’s father, Dionysus. Because she miraculously spent almost half of a year in the Labyrinth, she suffered more from Minos’ curse than Chris Rodriguez. Even after being cured, Nastia still had visions about the Labyrinth, its atrocities, Titan Army and her childhood, hence she isolated herself from others campers.

Back in home[]

Around March Nastia went on a mission led by her friend, Jeannie Wright, together with her brother from Cabin Nine, Matthew Herrero. They had to come near Lewistown in search of lost tools, where Matthew was attacked by a monster. Since he needed medical help but they couldn’t simply go to the hospital, they came to the only adult they knew was in town. Despite not liking that idea (and despite she suggested it) Nastia reunited with her mother after running away a few years ago. Nastia and her friends didn’t stay at Lidia’s house for long. She left her mother heartbroken again, not even revealing to her being a demigod and that Greek gods were real.

Some time before summer vacation, after Dionysus’ prompting, Nastia came back to her mother’s house. She tried to explain Lidia and Jacob where she had been all those years, but they didn’t want to believe in the gods’ world. It was a vain effort, but Nastia stayed with them for a few days, almost living like a normal teenager if not for the monsters’ attack. She came to the Camp but this time with her mother who wanted to know if her daughter’s words were true, and wanted to meet her father. After a long talk with Dionysus Lidia came back to Lewistown, and Nastia made her an uncertain promise about coming home after summer vacation.

Starting again[]

In September 2009 Nastia started a school in Lewistown. She had a hard time to adapt there since for the last four years she didn’t have any official education, and because of the Battle of Manhattan, where she lost her friends on both sides of the war, what has a factor on her mental health. Due to her disappearance, Nastia had to attend psychological sessions every Friday. From time to time, in the park she used as a shortcut to go home, she met Nora Johnson, her old acquaintance from primary school. Eventually, after some time they became friends, one of a few that Nastia had.

Due to attending Catholic private school and having strict parents, Nora struggled with comphet. Unlike her, Nastia was more free with her sexuality and never really minded it, as knew the reaction of other people wasn’t what she was looking for. It wasn’t until May 2010 when they shared their first kiss. Then Nastia had to leave for the Camp, which was struggling with its own problems.

Everything must come to an end[]

After summer Nastia came back to Lewiston. She and Nora finally became girlfriends, and had a pretty peaceful life. After graduation they moved to New York, where Nora could attend medical school, while Nastia chose more humanistic studies. However, during one monster attack, Nastia died at the age of twenty two.

Appearance[]

Nastia is slim and tall, being around 5’9” feets tall. The time she spent on run and in the Labyrinth had an unhealthy effect on her appearance, making her even more slender, as she didn't have enough food, and causing her face to look gloomy, as if she was calculating moves of everyone who could be her enemy. However, training in Camp Half Blood and Titan Army compensated it, making her more muscular. Nastia is pale, has violet eyes, and black curly hair that she usually wears in a ponytail. She prefers to wear baggy clothes, and is especially fond of wearing her old fingerless gloves.

Personality[]

Nastia is a quiet and observant person. She doesn't usually talk much, but her temper is short, and she can quickly get angry at something or someone. Despite that, she is clever and intuitive, being also very loyal to her friends, as she would even walk straight into a fire to help them.

Fatal flaw[]

Nastia’s fatal flaw is being too trustful and easily forgiving others even if they don’t deserve her forgiveness. She still sees good in the world and in the people, and despite the pain they gave her, she tries to not lose hope in it.
