“ | The Olympians? Kronos? Who cares! Whatever side I think is losing, I join in and help them. I keep the conflict going, it's great! | ” |
—Lewis to Nico, admitting his true motives. |
Lewis Bennett is a sixteen year old Greek demigod and the son of Eris and Nathan Bennett. He formerly works as a double agent for Kronos, but betrayed him to fight against his war. Currently, he is exploring the world in search for "interesting" matters.
History[]
Early Life[]
Lewis Bennett was born around 1997 on the night of August 22nd. He lived with his father in a mansion, whereas his father is a businessman and owns a firearm company, selling rifles and guns. His father used to be a military soldier and served as a sergeant and sniper. In one of his missions, he was heavily injured that caused him to get discharged of his service. His experience in the military affected his mentality, causing him to have a militaristic and tough behavior around Lewis.
At a young age, he was neglected and mistreated by his father on a daily basis. With ADHD and Dyslexia, he was harshly criticized by his father and tried to shape him to be "perfect". Lewis found comfort in his grandmother, who was kind and gentle towards him and had always protected him from his father. Ever since she died from terminal sickness, Lewis grew a little cold and empty as his grandmother was the only person who cared for him and the abuse from his father continued. The abuse caused Lewis to have a cruel outlook on life and was a violent and angry child. Due to his violent outbursts, he was sent to a boot camp for his behavioral problems at the age of 9.
Once he came back, he learned to hide his true emotions towards his father. Soon enough, his father gradually ended his abuse towards him and remarried. His stepmother, Genevieve Carney, a socialite, pretends to like Lewis only to put up a good appearance towards her husband and the press. In secret, she would insulting him behind his back, or accusing him of things he hasn't done.
Around 11 years old, he mastered Russian, shooting firearms, and had "mended" his relationships with his father and stepmother. Though he held a grudge in his heart.
Westwood University Fire[]
During middle school, Lewis had aged into a promising student. He was the top student in his class, made sure his ADHD and Dyslexia weren't out of control and joined a JROTC program. Because of his popularity in school, his reputation only increased and nobody would even think twice that he would doing anything wrong.
But Westwood University held a secret hierarchy that nobody knew except for the students who attended Westwood University. He witnessed abuse of authority by teachers, the student council, and including JROTC officers. A lot of unlucky students became a target for bullying and many students wouldn't stand up to the bullying, causing some students to drop out and in some cases, suicide. This affected his mindset for a long time but had to keep his reputation at the same time. He believed that he could keep his emotions locked away until they disappear, but it continued to build up until he reached his limit.
Once Lewis had enough, he decided to spread a rumor about the principal giving the whole school supplementary classes during the summer. This caused an outrage and a school riot happened. Many students began flocking to the principal's office, yelling and banging on his door. Teachers had to call security to calm down the students, and some had begun to break windows and doors.
Somehow in the chaos, Lewis secretly set off a fire in a classroom resulting the university to go in flames. Most students were able to evacuate before any casualties, but some received injuries from the blaze. Lewis left the school and found himself in a forest, where he met his mother, Eris. She congratulated him on creating the perfect chaos and had expectations from him in the future. By making her proud, she tells him about a place called "Camp Half-Blood" where people like him attend and become strong. She insists that he finds Camp Half-Blood by himself, so he could gain his freedom and leave his past behind.
When the police arrived, they investigated the scene, but haven't found any leading suspect who started the fire. The case remained unsolved.
Search For Camp Half-Blood[]
Running Away from Home[]
A month later, Lewis's father sent him to another school so he can continue moving up to junior high school. He recalled his mother's words and continued to search for Camp Half-Blood without his parents knowing. He was so fixated that he tried searching it up online, only to find monsters waiting outside his home. He looked for more information in his school and approached a satyr named "Kyrus". Kyrus offered to take him to Camp Half-Blood, but he denied his offer. All he needed was the exact location.
Lewis was informed him that his father was leaving for a business trip with Genevieve. Seeing this as an opportunity, he planned his journey to Camp Half-Blood the next morning. With the location of the camp and his supplies, he sets out to New York. On his journey, he traveled by hitchhiking, taxi cabs, buses, and on foot. Because of his demigod blood, he easily attracted monsters and had to face them by himself.
Meeting Marc Gray[]
On his second day, he accidentally used a telephone which attracted a few monsters. Lewis enters an abandoned amusement park, being followed by two monsters. The monsters lunged after him, but Lewis was able to dodge them. He took out his tactical knife and a 2v1 fight began. He managed to injure the first monster that it stopped moving, but he got distracted and the other monster took him out. It landed a strong fist to his face, almost taking out Lewis. A little boy rushed to help him. He climbed up to a rusty water tank and jumped on its head, wrapping a jump rope around its neck. As the monster was thrashing around, Lewis got up and took the advantage to stab it in its stomach. The monster exploded into golden dust. Then Lewis passed out.
The little boy carries him on a wooden cart and brings him to a empty old timey diner. He puts Lewis in a sofa chair and places his backpack on his head to act as a makeshift pillow. Lewis woke up to see the little boy trying to make a fire in a oil drum as he was freezing cold. He brought out a match and lit it up. They both huddled around the fire and started asking questions. They introduced each other and Lewis learns the boy's name is Marc Gray. Apparently Marc was also on the search for Camp Half-Blood since it was one of the few places he could learn more about his father and they decided to stick together and help each other.
The next day, they left the amusement park and went to a nearby convenience store to eat some breakfast. After eating, Lewis decided to buy some warm clothes for Marc since he was only wearing a tattered shirt and pants. Lewis was surprised that he survived that long. As they continued on their journey, Lewis and Marc grew to be friends. Lewis was bit closed off and rarely talked about himself to Marc, but Marc was a talkative little boy and liked to chat and comment a lot. Eventually, Lewis warmed up to him and eventually opened up to him.

Personality[]
Lewis is an unruly boy who opposes authority and stands by its destruction. He battles for whatever side promises the most chaos and carnage, siding with the people who give him the opportunity to use his weapons of mass destruction. Although he does fights for the thrill and destruction, he knows his limits and when to stop and hold back.
Generally, he has a laid-back yet cunning demeanor and is widely regarded as a "aggravation expert." He would purposefully offend others and is merciless in his sarcastic remarks. He is also extremely perceptive, capable of strategic planning and quick improvising when it comes to dire situations. Insults never bothered him as he is expects them most of the time. His constant smirking is there to fool adversaries into letting their guards down, so he could strike at the right moment. Facades are his biggest strengths and one cannot tell if he's lying or not.
He is also quite acquisitive, always looking for the most powerful items in the world. To take these items, he will either negotiate, manipulate, and even kill others to get these objects. Lewis may also be a megalomaniac, seeing how takes any opportunity to hone his combat skills and become stronger while taking powerful, yet dangerous items to use in his battles.
Despite all the negative traits he has, he will do everything in his power to protect those he cares about, with or without bloodshed. Around close friends, he shows a sincere, honest side and has good intentions than what his outer image conveys. When he failed to save Marc Gray, he shows a vulnerable side where he promises to get stronger.
After the events of The Last Olympian, Lewis stated that he had given up his violent actions. He still shows no hesitation in defending himself but seemed to have a more neutral approach to his goals while he is exploring in East Asia. Lewis learns to rely on his allies and has gain empathy towards some people. He learns to be genuinely friendly and outgoing, but maintains a mysterious aura.
Fatal Flaw[]
One of his flaws is his everlasting loyalty. He is willing to go to greater lengths for anyone he considers a friend. However, earning Lewis's friendship is difficult. Depending on who sees it, his behavior can either seem too rational, too violent or too selfish. This is the most likely way Lewis will lead himself to his demise since he can't be defeated in single combat otherwise.
Another of his flaws is his wrath. When dealing with someone who he believes wronged him, or one of his friends, he will go to extremes with his actions, only being fueled by sadism and his slowing descent to insanity.
Fears[]
Even though he keeps his fears locked away, he still gets afraid of the thought of losing control during any moments of chaos and destruction. No matter how many times he shrugs off the feeling, he still senses the dread.
Appearance[]
Lewis has pitch-black hair and dull, yet somewhat piercing reddish brown eyes that are usually seen in a deadpan manner. His eyes naturally seem to intimidate a lot of people. He appears to have pale skin and eyebags underneath his eyes to look as if he hasn't slept for weeks. He is often seen with a condescending smirk on his face.
He doesn't care much about his appearance and usually wears green military jackets or black trench coats. Lewis is skinny and has a lean figure, but seems to slouch his shoulders lazily as he seems to not care much about his posture in front of other people. Lewis is often described as "cryptic" and "hard to figure". Due to that people have a hard time figuring out his goals or believing if he's telling the truth or not. He repeatedly gets comments about his tall and slender legs, making him look lanky to some people. In the Battle of Labyrinth, Lewis wears a camouflage cargo pants, a tactical vest, black tactical gloves and a pair of combat boots. His weapons are strapped to him and has molle pouches to keep his ammo.
When he was younger, he would wear proper clothing chosen by father such as blue argyle sweaters and white polos. He states that he never get to choose what he wanted to wear as a child and now that he's independent, he can finally decide what he wants to wear for himself.
After The Blood of Olympus, his slim body drastically changes to a slightly muscular build because of his experiences with traveling, fighting and searching mystical objects that he can use. His upper torso is filled with healed wounds and bruises while his left leg is dressed with bandages.

His combat skills only increased once he started training in Camp Half-Blood and meeting skilled fighters around the world.

With this ability, he is able to interfere in the phenomenon and take control of it—either generating a positive or negative outcome. This object was given and enchanted by Alabaster C. Torrington.
- Bottle of Panacea: It is an elixir that could cure all diseases and prolong life indefinitely. Unlike ambrosia and nectar, mortals can use it to replenish their health. He keeps it deep in his bag and only uses it for emergencies.
- Ring of Gyges: It grants the user the power of invisibility. It's a steel ring with a symbol of an eye crossed out. The eye is an on/off button—if swiped, the eye removes the crossed out sign and the user will be visible to others.
- Jar of Greek Fire: It is one of the most dangerous magical substances in the world and he uses it to create more damage and chaos in any situation he chooses. Lewis created it using the given ingredients and he continues to make more of this substance for his experimental firearms.
Relationships[]
Friends[]
During his journey to Camp Half-Blood, he meets Marc Gray during one of his run-ins with a monster. When Lewis was close to death, Marc helped him kill the monster that was about to kill him. Marc decides to join him on his journey and they travel tirelessly to Camp Half-Blood. But throughout their journey, they warmed up to each other and became friends. But as they traveled, they were captured by the Cyclops, leading to Marc's death. Lewis was distraught by his death and wanted revenge. He killed the Cyclops, avenging Marc's death but it wasn't enough. To this day, he still feels guilty about Marc's passing and sometimes even thought it was his fault.
When Nico disappeared from Camp, Lewis found him in a graveyard. He makes a deal with Nico that he can help him train with his abilities while helping him bring back his sister. Soon afterward, they allied and began their quest where they met troubles with monsters, honing their skills with each other and finding answers. In their quest, they caught feelings for each other but were too focused on their goals to even realize this. Lewis quickly found out that Nico still had a crush on Percy Jackson and believed he was bringing Nico down a dark path with his violent and chaos-inducing actions. Even when he liked Nico, he didn't want to bring Nico down with him. Lewis decided to "cut ties" with Nico by betraying him. But Lewis never betrayed him out of his loyalty to Kronos, he did it to keep Nico from walking down a dark path. During The Battle of the Labyrinth, they fought each other in Daedalus' workshop where Nico questions his association with Kronos, straining their relationship. In the Second Titan War, they meet again but Lewis tries to tell him that he changes his mind and sides with the Olympians. He convinces him by fighting alongside Nico during the war. Lewis states that Nico is one of the reasons why he changed sides. Following later the events of The Last Olympian, they fixed their friendship and kept in touch after separating their ways. He was happy to hear that Nico moved on and has a healthy relationship with Will Solace.
After Alabaster's exile from camp, he meets Lewis in New York while he is fighting a three-eyed monster. They both worked together to kill off the monster, but it barely escaped, losing half of its arm. Lewis made friends with him and they both worked together to find what Alabaster needed to complete his spell. Lewis respects his rebellious nature and does not bow down to the gods because of their selfishness. They instantly bonded over their same hatred for the Olympians' (except for Hestia) tyranny and would constantly insult their abuse of power. The two of them traveled together around the world, helping each other train and find items they wanted. Their friendship goes far as even Lewis offered him a home in his mansion to Alabaster giving him an Enchanted GPS Tracker on his birthday.
Whenever he visits Camp Half-Blood, one of his favorite places to visit is the Cave of the Oracle. He prefers staying there and spending time having conversations with Rachel or looking at her drawings. She invited him to come to visit her every once in a while and would keep him updated with the current events in the camp. When he stays longer in camp, a lot of campers usually see him with Rachel and Chiron. He enjoys Rachel's company as a friend and understands her problem being a part of a rich business family. They keep in touch through Iris Messaging
He met the fellow magician during one of his strife storm events. He didn't mean to bump into her in London, but he was creating such a big strife storm that Sadie almost thought he was Set. She fought him with her staff until she withdrew to give each other a break since none of them could overpower the other. Lewis started a friendly conversation and was interested in what kind of magic she used. Since she had met Annabeth and Percy, two other demigods, she could tell he was also a demigod. Instead of continuing the fight, they decided to grab a snack at a nearby food stand and had a little friendly chat.
Family[]
He has a terrible relationship with his father. After all those years of putting him under pressure, abusing him, and even sending him to boot camp at a young age, he hated him. Lewis cannot bring it up to himself to hurt his father but yet holds a grudge against him for the mistreatment he had to endure as a child. Nathan had never once apologized to Lewis for how he treated him in the past, but has been putting effort into slowly reconciling his relationship with his son and has even shown not to give up searching for him after he went missing.
Lewis looks up to his mother and respects her as a goddess. He goes to her when he needs help and prays to her in honor of her name. Eris may not show it to anyone, but she is happy with whatever decision her son will make and is proud to have him as her son. But even if she is Lewis's mother, she is also still the goddess of chaos. She pushes him to reach beyond his limits and will even break his mental state to reach his own goals.
As one of Eris's immortal daughters, the goddess of mischief becomes jealous of Lewis as he gains a lot of attention and praise from her mother. From what she has seen in his journey, she gives him credit for surviving that long but also tries to cause trouble and suffering in his travels. Lewis avoids her as much as possible and is annoyed with her schemes.
Lewis and his stepmother mutually dislike each other, as he is still the heir of his father's company. Genevieve would talk behind his back to her assistant and would call him rude names. In return, Lewis would make sure that every morning she was clumsy enough to spill her coffee and spoil her business attire. Their relationship never got better.
Trivia[]
- It's a wonder that he hasn't been exiled from Camp yet.
- He is noted to usually have a monotone voice when speaking. But whenever he raises his voice, it is known to sound menacing.
- For some reason, Lewis and Alabaster has never met each other before the defeat of Kronos, even though they were in the same alliance.
- One of the reasons could be that Lewis was reserved at that time and didn't like to communicate with people yet.
- Lewis calls the Ring of Gyges the "One Ring", a reference to the Lord of the Rings.
- He speaks Russian as his father is half-Russian and he is taught by his late grandmother. He still studies Russian in honor of his grandmother.
- Often a lot he is misunderstood as a lunatic who only causes wars, simply to enjoy them. This is actually not true.
- While almost everything he does involves violence and chaos, he only does this as he is aware of the tyranny of the gods and their abuse of power. He notices how plenty of demigods' problems stem from the gods' consequences of their impulsive actions.
- Despite knowing Kronos' true intentions, he still joined his army against the Olympians. As stated by him, "He was bored and Camp Half-Blood took forever to go to war"—though his motivations could be more complex. He betrayed Kronos for two reasons: Kronos got dull after inheriting Luke's body, and he also wanted Nico to be safe.
- Lewis owns a small business where he sells firearms with Celestial Bronze bullets. Although most traditional demigods wouldn't approve this, a few would buy from him for their safety, mainly younger demigods and worried parents who could see through the Mist.
- His sexuality may be "panromantic asexual" since he states that "kissing is vulgar" and does not have a type, as long as they're not boring.
- Even though Lewis and Nico had feelings for each other, they never officially dated and were still considered close friends.
