Evangeline Anh is a sixteen-year-old Vietnamese demigod who resides in Camp Half-Blood as a year-round camper in Cabin 12. She is the daughter of Dionysus; God of wine, theatre, religious ecstasy, and madness.

Personality[]
Evangeline's personality exhibits traits of her father, Dionysus. She is described to have a bipolar hot-and-cold personality, which ranges from being laid-back and easygoing to fierce and commanding. She is shown to become more orderly and serious once she's put in battle, but has an unshaken sense of humor and sarcasm throughout everything.

- Evangeline is one of the few children of Dionysus to have full control of Parafrosynikinesis, or madness manipulation. Parafrosynikinesis includes the inducement and reduction of insanity and other mental illnesses.

Evangeline's primary weapon is a large celestial bronze sword that—in a similar sense to Percy's sword Anaklusmos—condenses into a golden bracelet when not in use, and will always reappear on her wrist. The Greek name Parafrosýni is a reference to her godrent Dionysus, and translates to 'Lunacy'.
Appearance[]
Evangeline is a 17-year-old Vietnamese demigirl with jet black hair and eyes. In The Lost Hero, her eyes are described to be so dark that looking in them too long made Piper dizzy. She has a tanned olive complexion and is deceptively fit.
Despite the situation, Evangeline is always wearing baggy, grungy clothes, and is described to have a similar look to a skater girl with an androgynous style.
History[]
Evangeline was raised on scraps and bits. she loves her mother to the ends of the earth and her mother for her, but her mom, Hoang Anh, was a reckless single teen parent living in a shotty apartment in the ghetto with a little less than a hundred to pay bills, buy food, and raise a demigod baby all at the same time. Evangeline was raised in solitude—a stark contrast from how she is in present day—when she was younger, she felt like it was only her and her mother against the world.
Hoang herself was barely fit to be a parent. She had no bad intentions for her daughter, but she was extremely reckless with Evangeline’s behavior and even often encouraged an attitude. They lived with only each other for a long while, Hoang juggling 3 different part-timers to have barely enough for a meal in their stomachs and a roof over their head, but bills were getting more expensive and it came to a point where she physically didn’t have the finances to take care of her daughter.
It was when Evangeline was 8 and her mother 26 when she was sent to camp half-blood. For the first three seasons, she stayed year-round, before hoang finally was in a better situation to have Evangeline home for the school year.
Those three years were rough. Evangeline was tiny, scared, thrown into a random summer camp and stunned with all the previously unknown of info about her life. When she first discovered her father was Dionysus, she resented him deeply—resented how he abandoned her mother so carelessly, left her to fend for herself. And, despite the years, still has a pit of hatred in the back of her mind for her father, even if he has shown some flicker of care for her and her mother.

Evangeline's closest friend is Will Solace, having been the first person to talk to when she first arrived at camp. Rachel Elizabeth Dare is a close second, followed by Piper McLean, Travis Stoll, and Percy Jackson.
Love Interests[]
Though Evangeline has no current romantic pursuits, there was a period of time during The Titan's Curse through The Last Olympian where she had a crush on Percy Jackson.
Family[]
Evangeline's only known family members is her father, Dionysus, and her mortal mother, Hoang Anh.

- Evangeline defeated Medea by herself on her quest to retrieve Hermes's Caduceus by using her parafrosynikinesis and driving Medea to drink one of her own poisoned potions.
- Evangeline's favorite food is grapes, and is always depicted to be eating some form of grape-flavored food during meals.
- In The Battle of the Labyrinth, Percy overhears Evangeline ranting about how cute someone is to Will Solace. Percy didn't know who she was talking about, but it was later proved that she was talking about Percy.
- Evangeline is said to resemble Nico Di Angelo so closely, new campers confuse them for siblings.
- Evangeline has an affinity to music and can be seen performing with her cabin or leading sing-alongs at the campfire.
- Evangeline is bilingual and can speak both English and Vietnamese fluently, English being her secondary language.
- Evangeline's Vietnamese name is Quỳnh, but she prefers to be called by her English name, which she chose herself, simply because her initials spell 'EVA'.
