Eden Yang is a 13-year-old British Chinese-born Greek demigod daughter of Hermes and legacy of Poseidon. She is a huge fan of the Chinese trickster god from the famous classical Chinese novel Sun Wukong and wields a staff quite similar to his golden cudgel, although hers is crafted out of celestial bronze.
History[]
Eden Yang was born on January 23rd. Ever since she was a young toddler, she has been mesmerized with martial arts movies and her favorite book was the classical Chinese novel Journey To The West by Wu Cheng'en. She was a notable fan of Sun Wukong, the mischievous Monkey King. Her parents were very supportive of her passions and signed her up for multiple martial arts classes that included taekwondo, karate, and t'ai chi ch'uan. Her training began when she was around 4 years old. She bonded with many of her masters.
Eden often loused up in her schoolwork over the years and never really improved with her subjects, especially mathematics, a trait that she shares with Luli Yin. Her ADHD and dyslexia especially contributed to this. At the age of 9, her father died from heart disease. His last words to her were "As long as you go far and chase your dreams, I will always be with you and proud of you." She befriended the satyr Tim Albright shortly before arriving at camp. When they were attacked by monsters when they were walking home from school together, they fought them off and soon reinforcements from camp arrived at the scene to escort Eden as well.
After arriving at camp, Annabeth takes Eden to the shed at the Athena cabin to select a weapon. Eden examines all of the displayed weapons before remembering something and requesting her desired weapon to Annabeth. Annabeth consults one of the Hephaestus campers, and Eden requests a staff similar to the golden cudgel of Sun Wukong that can change it's size and length.
Personality[]
Eden is a mischievous, energetic, and fairly extroverted girl.
