History[]
Early Life[]
Balor Saxon was a clear sighted mortal who was around 17 when he met Eris goddess of chaos,strife,discord and conflict. Balor lived with his mother and father trying to live through high school while dealing with his parents who always fought... all the time starting over a disagreement it grew into something so much larger to yelling,throwing things and even (though very rare) sometimes physical violence. Because of this constant fighting Balor did everything he could to not go back home and hung out with his friend which were a bunch of people who did crazy,stupid thing that mostly had no reason other than pure fun but eventually he had to get back home and while he was home he stayed hidden in his room,drowning out everything else around him in any way he could. This constant chaos both at home and in his social life got the attention of Eris as she seemed drawn to him. They both officially met each other one of the times he was hanging out with his friends after school. Most of the guys in his group immediately fell under her influence feeling this need to either do something chaotic or fight with each other but considering how much chaos Balor was already around it didn't really effect as much if at all compared to everyone else. He immediately loved how she was willing to lean into the chaos of things and start trouble all in the name of having fun while She found it interesting how much she had to try to actually have her abilities affect him. They started hanging out more and more Balor even sneaked out to hang out with her after dark and it was a great friendship, as they just created mischief during this time she told him her true identity. though as the years moved on and his old high school friends fizzled out of his life for some reason she stuck around and both of them started falling in love with each other until Desdemona was brought into the world. Eris who knew she couldn't stay and be in her daughter's life left during the most chaotic time in his life, leaving him with this baby he had no idea how to handle alone. With a heavy heart put her into the adoption system and left her their.
Desdemona lived most of her life in the orphanage in and out of foster home but due to her nature anytime she went to a house something always happen that caused her to be returned like: exploding pipes, termite infestation, a freak electrical fire,etc. Once she was old enough to have parents interview her she quickly got really anxious and nervous which accidentally caused her powers to lash out at people and things around her. Due to this It went from her getting adopted for less than a day to never getting adopted no matter what she did to be the perfect child by pretending to love sports,pretending she was really smart,being the kindest child she could be but something always went wrong. her life in school was basically the exact same as she couldn't focus in class and her chaotic powers seemingly getting her into to trouble by doing stuff like: seem like she fought a kid,having cameras cut out or malfunction as she walked by making people think she was tampering with them,etc. That combined with causing bad thing to happen to her when she was stressed or anxious or both. The things that she was "caught" doing caused her to be expelled from many schools. on her seventh birthday a man who she eventually found out was Hermes brought her a package from her mother. She at first refused to open it but the more she tried to ignore it the more she needed to know what her mom sent her. After a few hours she opened it and read a letter telling her happy birthday and that she is sorry she can't see her but there was a gift that she could give her to "help with her hair" which was almost always a mess because of stupid circumstances "and one day other things." Desdemona had no clue what that meant and she was a little angry at her mother for sending her a gift and it being a stupid hair band. She did wear it though because she still wanted to have something that told her she was from somewhere. Though life never got easier as time went on in fact it got worse as she grew older and her power also grew which caught the attention of some creatures.
Monster Attack "Another failed adoption"[]
at the age of twelve she started a normal day. She woke up and got herself ready putting on the head band, she could have sworn that it had change multiple times since she had used it but people either said they didn't remember or that it hadn't changed design so she stopped telling people, just like how she stopped telling people about a the horses made of water, women in the water,The horses with wings and all the other stuff that she decided was just her being bored at school and making up, she assumed everybody just sometimes had their imagination activate randomly, not like it would be less random then most of the things around her. She had a few Interviews and even though she'd had a lot before she couldn't just stop at some point her bad luck would have to stop, right? she was nervous and could feel her heart beating in her chest and like it always did it starting lashing out at everything around her and even the building. she gave herself one more look straightening out her shirt as she put on a smile and walked in to see a man with long brown hair similar to herself and a peach colored shirt that seemed to be, fuzzy? but she forced herself to sit and the meeting was going normal which also meant in the middle something went wrong as a large Desdemona was talking a massive part of the ceiling caved in and fell directly on the mans head and though his head fell it wasn't as much as it should have been as he looked at her with pure hatred and he growled showing all of his teeth which seemed grow sharper as he stood up and grew himself his hair forming into a lions mane and his shirt melding into his skin to look like the fur of a lion and the both coolest and scary feature to Desdemona was a giant scorpions tail He said "You foolish Demigod. I will have your head for that!" The Care giver with bravery that Desdemona didn't understand jumped in between the monster and Desdemona but the manticore just used his tail to paralyze the caregiver. Desdemona immediately runs as the manticore chases her and once when the Tail strikes,ducks while running and it knocks her head band off. She saw this and against her better judgement she grabbed it and as she did it slowly morphed into a celestial bronze knife and so many thoughts were running through her head "what is happening? Who is this man?Is my caregiver dead? Since when could my Head band become a knife?" she then heard the sound of wind rushing and out of instinct she ran and a spike hit where she was. She looked around a saw the manticore destroying her home and all her friends were running away screaming and she chose to turn around and fight it. "This is such a stupid idea but I can't let it kill more people just to get to me." she mumbled to herself. The manticore manticore charged Desdemona and shoot it's scorpions tail at he as she moved it got caught in a tile and as the manticored pulled harder to get it out the floor crack and fell apart under him she used the moment to cut off the stinger of the scorpion tail. The manticore screamed in pain as it regain it bearing and ponced at he got pinned to the ground,The force knocked the sword out of her hand, the manticore standing on her chest making it hard for her to breath as the manticore asks "any last words little demigod" Desdemona didn't answer instead grabbing the scorpion stinger from the ground and stabbed it straight where it's heart would be as it turned to dust she took a deep breath the only thing remaining...The scorpion tail in her hand as she laid on the ground heaving as she heard the sound of sirens outside. The police came inside to see her on the ground holding what they thought was a knife and seeing she was a twelve year old girl they told her to leave. she grabbed her head band which had turned back to normal and walked outside. The police asked questions and she lied saying that she took his weapon, stabbed him and he ran away."
Going to Camp "A babies first fire"[]
After the cops got the story from all the kids including Desdemona it was put into the newspaper with the tittle "Young girl fights crazed man, crazed man still at large." the next few days were a blur of cops,journalist, kids from her new school, and her being incredibly anxious from the attention from people she didn't know. She was fine with a lot of people and she would be in a large friend group if people didn't tend to stay away from her due to her... bad luck. to every person who asked about this attack she always lied to them about it just being a man but This story got back to camp half-blood and a satyr and two demigods were sent out to see if there was a demigod who could possibly be in danger. Desdimona was just trying to make sense of the whole thing. she had no idea what that thing was but for once she had proof right in her hand that it wasn't just her imagination. She sat in her bed looking at the manticore stinger and just trying to figure out how it was possible and if the other thing she saw were real. She laughed at herself "Of course that wasn't real! It's impossible and something like that cant exi-" the satyr walks up out of nowhere and gasps loudly at what Desdemona was holding. She got scared and a few the windows cracked. she looks at him and saw his goat horns and legs so she did the smart thing and pointed the mantocore's stinger at them "Stay back! I will turn you to dust just like the monster I stole this from!" the other demigods showed up and immediately tried to meditate the situation "Woah, we aren't here to hurt you we promise. Look we are here to help you with what you did." Desdemona looked at the stinger the back at them "I just attacked a guy, I already told the police everything I knew." One of the demigods stepped closer and said "but you didn't see a man did you? because it wasn't a man and you know it." Desdemona loosened her grip on the stinger lowering it down so it wasn't pointing at them the goat? boy? Hybrid? Whatever it's was spoke and Said "uh, hello. we mean no harm to you my name is Jeb, her name is Charlotte and his name is Sage. We are here to help." Desdemona looked at the three of them "if you don't want to hurt me then... what do you want?" Jeb replied with "uhh well... how do I say this wit-" he was interrupted by the girl called Charlotte "I need you to trust us. I know you don't know us but more things like that thing are going to come after you but we know a place that will keep you safe." Jeb looked at Charlotte "how do you make it so easy? Yeah, whatever she said is true I could sense you from five blocks away and if I could that means some other " Des looked at Jeb, confused and said "y-you.. sensed me? what does that even mean."
Powers and Traits[]
How her powers work[]
With Eris being a goddess of conflict and chaos her children's powers tend to be on a spectrum of sorts and some children have zero control over when their powers activate while others have complete and total control. Desdemona sadly has a lot less control over her own powers and like she is with her ADHD had to always be doing something which tended to mean that bad things happened to her which got her in trouble. Her powers were tied to her emotions and was almost like it's own being using her emotions to gage what it should make chaotic to protect her. Though sometimes this means there will be false alarms like when she was anxious about who was going to be interviewing her, nervous about a test, or angry about never knowing her parents. In these moments she had a strong emotion which has caused stuff like: Windows to explode and all the shattered glass to miss Desdemona and only hit the interviewer, an old sprinkler system will go off in the room and ruin the all the test papers and any electronic device with a back up of the test (Like computers,phones,usbs,etc) destroyed by the water,malfunction,or a small explosion, or everything in the orphanage she was in cracking and/falling apart (and yes all of this has happened before) though it has also been helpful before like with Manticore getting his tail stuck and Harpy being burned.
Eris kid powers[]
- She tends to be more innately stronger in any chaotic time.
- she is excellent in Knifemanship.
- she can make anyone fight with each other. (but she doesn't use this power often)
