Amberly "Amber" Jackson Riddle is the double demigod daughter of Neptune and Freyr (or, Poseidon and Frey by the Greeks). She is the third eldest alive child of two Pantheons, being younger than Vanda Nestor and Balor Mors. Currently, she is an einheri. She is the former girlfriend of Bianca di Angelo and the late Luke Castellan. Currently, she is the Lover of Athena.
After all of the series, Amber had built RA, a school for mythical beings. She is the current headmaster and the mythology teacher. Amber is also the parent of three. The Riddle Twins (Nolan and Zoë) and Ivy Riddle.
History[]
Birth[]
It is unknown how Amber was conceived due to being a child of two male deities. But it is thought she was born the same way as children of virgin goddesses. It is also unknown where Amber lived the first four years of her life, though, it is thought to be in Alfhiem or Folkvanger.
With the Hunters of Artemis & Killing Athena's boar[]
When she four, by Odin, she was given to Artemis. There, until she was twelve she would spend time with the Hunters of Artemis and Cult of Dionysus. A day after she turned 11, a boar was sent by Athena to Camp Half-Blood. At the time, Artemis had godly business to attend to, meaning, the Hunters of Artemis were there. None of the Campers, including children of the big three were able to eliminate the boar. One day, Amber, out of boredom decided to attempt killing the boar. To most of the campers surprisement, she was able to defeat the boar. (Note: At this time, Amber did not know whom her godly parents were.)
Meeting With Athena[]
As promised by the goddess of wisdom herself, there was a meeting. Amber, being herself, was wandering around the forest where the huntresses were staying, with permission from Artemis's lieutenant, Zoe Nightshade. Although only being 12, this girl was swift and agile. Something that Athena looked for in warriors. Here, Athena was watching Amber as an owl. After a few hours of Amber just, somehow, making friends with animals like wolves, foxes, and other predators, Athena approached Amber as a young boy, saying she was son of Hermes and a messenger of Athena. Amber, playing around with a wolf cub and the mother, did not notice the goddess until she tapped her shoulder. They exchanged pleasantries. Athena stated she was a messenger of Athena. Amber's curiosity had been peaked. She was wondering why the messenger of a goddess was here. Wondering what she had done. Athena had explained that the boar Amber had killed was her own and why Amber was truly a warrior she would want. Amber tried to convince Athena she was a huntress, not a warrior. But, Athena stood her ground, saying Athena really wanted a warrior like her. Athena had set her eyes on Amber as a warrior. After a while, they parted ways. Amber went back to the Hunters of Artemis and explained in full details to Zoe Nightshade and Artemis what happened.
In Folkvanger[]
After about a few months after her meeting with Athena, Amber, by Odin, or as she knew him, "Uncle Philip", took her to Folkvanger. She lived there for about 40 years, but, since time does not move in Folkvanger, much like in the Lotus Hotel and Casino.
Friendship with Charlie Fierro[]
While in Folkvanger, she was trained by a einheri who lived in Folkvanger instead of Valhalla. This einheri was Charlie Fierro, daughter of Loki. She had been an einheri for around 400 years when Amber met her. While training, the two formed an intimate friendship over the forty something years Amber was there. They talked about everything. Also, at this time. Amber met Juno/Hera. Juno/Hera was there because she was a friend of Freyja, the ruler of Folkvanger. Amber and Juno/Hera usually kept away from each other because Juno/Hera was cautious of Amber.
Decision Between Gods[]
After the forty years, a decision to move Amber to the Lotus Hotel and Casino was ruled by the Olympians, the Aesir, and the Vanir. Some like Artemis, Freyr, Poseidon, Loki, and Artemis protested to keep her in Folkvanger since it would be cruel to move her again. Others like Zeus, Odin, Freyja, & more thought it was better to move her to the Lotus Hotel and Casino because two demigods, the thirteen year old Bianca di Angelo and the eleven year old Nico di Angelo, currently resided there. Ultimately, Amber was moved to the Lotus Hotel and Casino.
Meeting the di Angelo's[]
So, at 13, Amber was brought to the Lotus Hotel and Casino by Odin. She had ran into the di Angelo's a few times over a few years, but never truly interacted. Until, one day where Amber and Bianca started talking about just anything and everything. Time for them just stopped (no pun intended). That's was when they became friends. After a few days, Nico got some courage to talk to Amber.
Relationship with Bianca[]
After a decade, Amber and Bianca had gotten extremely close, almost to where it was romantic. But, they did not consider it a romantic relationship because Bianca grew up as a strict Catholic. And, Amber because she still had slight romantic feelings for Charlie Fierro and thought they would reconnect and start a relationship. But, neither of them could deny to closeness and intimacy between the two.
After some pestering from Amber, Bianca gave in. Nico once stated that he knew Amber and his sister were dating from how some couples acted around each other and how they acted around each other. But, they never told Nico due to them wanting to save his innocence. In spite of that, he still had his suspicions which were confirmed later on in The Titan's Curse.
"My Uncle Left me in the Middle of Nowhere."[]
Bianca and Amber had been dating for around 2 decades (what they thought was around a few months) before Amber was taken away by Uncle Philip (Odin in disguise). Because it was near 90 years that she had been to the outside world. Amber once said to Percy she was really shocked by all the crossdressing women, saying it was extremely uncommon in the 1900-1910's.
Odin brought Amber to Long Island, telling her she needed to go a place called the Delphi Strawberry Service which is Camp Half-Blood's cover up name. After she got that information, she was left alone, roaming.
After a while, she ran into Thema Akil, the fourteen year old Egyptian daughter of Anubis. Amber mention she needed to get to Delphi Strawberry Service. Which, Thema said she saw it along the way. Amber asked if Thema could bring her there, which, Thema accepted almost immediately, saying she'll tell her mom.
Arriving at Camp Half-Blood[]
A few hours after her run in with Thema, Amber arrived at Camp Half-Blood. While walking up Half-Blood Hill, she passed out in front of Camp Half-Blood's entrance. When she woke up, Annabeth Chase and Chiron were standing near her. Annabeth was protesting to Chiron, saying she felt a certain aura around Amber and she was "the one". But Chiron was shutting the idea down, saying Amber just arrived. Amber didn't known what time it was due to going back out cold and waking up in the morning.
Being Claimed by Freyr[]
During a 5-versues-5 match in Camp Half-Blood, Amber got overwhelmed, causing her to freak out and scream. With that, Amber was able to disarm everyone with one of her powers known as, "The Peace of Frey." The rune known as Fehu, the rune of Frey appeared above her head, meaning she was officially claimed by Freyr.

Amber was brought to Manhattan by Odin (whom she still referred to as Uncle Philip), there she was adopted by Sally Jackson and her husband, Gabe Ugliano. Although, her "adoption" by Gabe was not legal. Odin said it was Amber and Percy's father that suggested Amber get adopted by Sally. Percy mentioned he always though of Amber has an older sister and protector which is similar to her Norse half-brother, Magnus Chase.

Amber is a fourteen-year-old girl whose past she's kept a secret from everyone. Amber is seen as an eighth grader who was leading the sixth graders from Yancy Academy on a field trip to a museum with Chiron and Mrs. Dodds. Amber is first seen on the front of a bus, ordering a few of the kids to be quiet with her slightly deep monotone voice. She is also seen always standing by Percy and Grover like an overprotective sister. Although not talking much in the beginning, Amber is seen to be much help to half/adoptive brother. After the incident with Mrs. Dodds (Alecto in disguise), Amber is seen never leaving Percy's side in fear of both of their lives. She is also seen to be extremely anxious which is unusual for her. Although being hesitant, she denies there was even a teacher named Mrs. Dodds and Mrs. Kerr had been here all semester. After they got back to the school, while Percy is eavesdropping on Amber, Grover, and Mr. Brunner (actually the centaur Chiron), Amber is heard arguing about a "child of two Pantheons". She was saying she wasn't it and it was just a coincidence she was claimed by a Norse god in a Greek camp. While at the bus stop with Percy and Grover, Amber is seen to still be extremely anxious which Percy mentions is very uncharacteristic since her anxiety usually goes away quickly. It is later learned this anxiety is because of the Fates that sniped the string of life. Most of her anxiety was due to the fact she did not who was going to die: her or Percy. Later on, while Grover is in the bathroom, Amber convinced Percy to ditch Grover. Percy complied even though he dreaded going home. When they got home, their step-dad, Gabe Ugliano was playing poker with his poker friends. When Gabe demanded money from Percy and he denied multiple times, Amber had thrown an empty beer bottle at Gabe. Although not hitting him, it scraped his side and shattered on the wall. Eddie, one of Gabe's poker friends make a slightly pedophiliac remark about Amber to Gabe resulting him almost getting beaten up by Amber herself. Her adoptive mother arrives soon afterward and tells her that they can go to their favorite beach in Montauk for the whole weekend. Amber is shown to be a suspicion and talked to Sally outside the room, showing concern. Sally had assured her it was fine. Both Amber and Percy had packed their things and left, but not before knocking over Gabe's poker set with her hydrokinesis discreetly. Although being driven to the the cabin, she is not seen at the cabin after Percy's dream. Amber only appears after Percy's fight with the minotaur when she is on top Half-Blood Hill. She was the one that brought them both to the infirmary. She is next seen caring for Percy one time when he woke up but not the next two times. Amber is reveal to Percy to be the daughter of Frey by Mr. D, the camp director. She is seen to be very apologetic to Percy but he is confused on if Frey is his father if he is Amber's father. She was, with Percy, in the Hermes Cabin but rarely in it due to mostly hanging out with the Ares' kids since they seem to enjoy her. When Percy encounters Clarisse La Rue, Amber is next to her. Percy wondered if something was going on between them (although not being stated, they were in a relationship/fling). Amber is afterwards seen half-scolding, half-flirting with Clarisse after she had tried to push Percy into a toilet in the girl's bathroom. She is also seen on Clarisse's team in Capture the Flag although Annabeth wanted her on their team. This made Percy wonder whose side she is on. After Capture the Flag, when the Hellhound was sent from the Fields of Punishment, Amber was the one whom had killed it with an earthquake (one of the powers Percy did not obtain from Poseidon.) After the earthquake had calmed down, there was a holographic trident above her head. Similarly to Percy who had healed his wounds with water, making them both officially claimed by Poseidon. This claiming explained why Amber was able to control earthquakes and Percy could control water. Luke is seen giving Annabeth a few Golden drachmas. Amber had exclaimed if they were betting on if she was a Double Demigod. They nodded, Annabeth said she knew Amber was one since day one. Since hellhounds do not live in the forest, confusion had set across on how it was there. Clarisse blamed Percy while Amber tried to convince her it wasn't him since the hellhound attacked Percy. It is later revealed Luke had sent the hellhound. When Percy was offered the quest to find the Master Bolt, he did not directly bring Amberly with him. But rather, she had snuck on the quest, appearing while Percy, Annabeth, and Grover were fighting the Chimera. After Ares had gave them a ride to the Lotus Hotel and Casino, Amber had seemed worried to say the least. Although, while in the hotel, she had been seen with a brunette girl (later revealed to be Bianca di Angelo). When the squad had reached Hades, Amber seemed distant from the others, as if she was scared of the death god. To make things worse, she was protecting her brother who Hades had thought had stole his Helm of Darkness. When shown that the god of War had planted the Master Bolt in Percy’s backpack. Amber seemed no less than enraged. Cutting between Percy and Ares’s fight, Amber had used her water control to put pressure on Ares, slowly bringing him to his knees. Although, a force (later seen as Kronos) had stopped Amber from killing Ares. Amber is not seen for a while after that. Only being seen when Percy arrived home. Amber had been revealed to drop out of middle school, rather helping Grover with his quest for Pan rather than school. |

"My Uncle Becomes My Lawyer."[]
Between the books The Lighting Thief and The Sea of Monsters, Amber had been charged with multiple accounts of aggravated assault and battery against wealthy, business men. According to her, these men were attempting to rape women or girls but, being from a poor family, Amber could not win her case due to bribery of the court. Although, she had “hired” her uncle, Hades, as her lawyer. He had placed a spell over the mortals thinking he was a famous lawyer named “Christopher Riddle”. While having a god on her side, Amber decided to take her punishment. Although, Hades later made it up to her.
In Juvenile detention[]
After losing multiple cases, Amber had went to an unnamed juvenile detention center, there, she was pretty feared among the other kids due to her general appearance. Although, while there, she met someone named C.J. Martin, who would later become a close friend of her’s. Her sentence wasn’t that long, saying she got through it with ease.

The Sea of Monsters[]
Amber is not seen in the first part of the book, first appearing when Percy arrived back at Camp. She later sided with Clarisse, as a partner to go on the quest for the Golden Fleece. The two later rescue Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson and allow them aboard the CSS Birmingham which Clarisse commands. When fighting Scylla and Charybdis, the group is separated. Amber had ended up with Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson. Which, oddly, upset her. Tyson, a good Cyclops and the half-brother of Percy and Amber, supposedly was killed in Clarisse's ship after the ship got blown up due to malfunction problems leaving only Amber, Percy and Annabeth behind. The three had journeyed to multiple different island, including Circe’s and the Siren’s. While on Circe’s island, Amber had stayed back on the ship. When they reach Polyphemus's island they join up with Clarisse (who managed to survive the explosion), Grover (who had been captured by Polyphemus to be married to), and later Tyson, who miraculously survived thanks to Rainbow, a friendly hippocampus who dragged him out of the water.

Amber has tan skin, messy, shoulder-length blonde hair that she inherited from Freyr and sea-green eyes that she got from her father Neptune and from her grand-mother Ops. She also has claw-shaped scars on her right bicep and a smaller one of the same shape on her right cheek. Both of these scars are from a hellhound attack between the books, The Titian's Curse and The Battle of the Labyrinth. Both girls and boys, but mostly girls, find Amber attractive but she refuses to acknowledge it. Mentioned by Neptune, she is a “Perfect mix between the two of us.”
In the beginning of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Amber is described by Percy as, "a handsome fourteen year-old way too tall and burly for her age with these piercing sea-green eyes and blonde hair that flows over her shoulders." Percy also wondered how Amber didn't have a boyfriend or girlfriend yet as the boys and even some of the girls at Yancy Academy were gawking over her. Annabeth notes that she has more muscle as Percy but doesn't find her more attractive.
After her and Percy had slain Polybotes in the Son of Neptune, like her brother, she gained a tattoo of a trident and SPQR on the underside of her left forearm, showing she's a full member of the Twelfth Legion.
In The Sword of Summer, Magnus describes Amber as, "A twenty-year-old goddess-looking woman with piercing sea-green eyes, that only show warmth to some, and shoulder-length, blonde hair like me." Magnus also said, "She's really tall, burly and scary. But, I'm glad, I have scary dog privileges." Also, Magnus said Amber was abnormally tall and at least a foot taller than Hearthstone.
Amber is also said by Minerva she always has this stoic and cold look like her father but it goes away when around certain people.
In her older years, around 30, Amber is shown to still be quite attractive. Her sea-green eyes are also seen to be much warmer and she is seen smiling more, they also gained a blue-ish tint. Although being older, she still has her youthful muscular build. She opted to cutting her hair in a close cropped way similar to a close cropped way Balor Mors.
Personality[]
According to Freyr, Amber has the same changeable personality as Neptune. Amber is said to be natural leading, brave young woman. She is usually seen by her stoic, cold, and mean persona, usually handing out snarky and rude remarks about people and things. She usually keeps a monotone voice and stoic expression.
In her younger years, Amber was an extremely warm and welcoming young girl. Like when she was young, Amber was, and still is, able to tame even the most dangerous of animals. Being able to tame Fenrir, the son of her enemy, by herself. Amber, also like in her younger years, is an agile and cunning young woman.
Although, Amber has a softer side she shows to people she trusts. This shown with people like Athena, Sally, Percy, Magnus, and more. With the people she warms up to, she seems to need praise from the older ones, which is one of her fatal flaws. On top of a need for praise, she is also very affectionate with her close friends and family. She's seen cuddling and giving random gifts to her close family and friends. For example, Alexiel Carter, Akio Maeda, Annabeth Chase, and a few more.
It is said Amber got colder after Bianca's death. In The Battle of the Labyrinth, she is seen being extremely cold to people which was unlike her. She is also seen sneering at people and rolling her eyes. Percy stated she lost her peaceful aura. But, in The Mark of Athena, Piper mentioned she had a calming aura when she got closer to Amber, meaning she gained her aura back.
Though, she is very empathetic to people who are less fortunate, gaining a respect to people who live in poverty surviving that long. It is said in The Sword of Summer, Amber started a charity.
Amber is also shown to have a sense of humor. Cracking jokes in tense situations to break any tension or worry. But, sometimes the jokes can be trauma-based which can make the tension even worse.
Also like her father, Amber is a very disciplined, militaristic, and warlike. Which differs from her brother who is laid-back. Also like Neptune, she has a very short temper, usually taking into violence when she's angry. Amber is also seen to be very wrathful, taking into killing the cyclopes, in the Titian Army, whom claimed they were Poseidon's favorite. Also, with that, Ares stated her fatal flaw is wrath. He also said he respected her for that.
Athena once told her seduction can lead to a person's downfall. Amber took that statement to heart. Usually, she can become seductive with her enemies. This is shown with Luke Castellan multiple times. In The Battle of the Labyrinth, in one of Percy's dreams, Amber was tied up while wandering through a forest and knocked out. The scene changed, showing Amber cuddling up to Luke with a seductive look that had a lot of malice behind it.
Albeit, Amber is very gentle with children. Being extremely overprotective of them, and constantly thinking about them after she got turned into a einheri. For example the son of Hephaestus, Harley. Whom, when she returned from Valhalla, she gave a whole ton of attention to.
Being one of Athena's warriors, Amber is shown to be a very wise, cunning, strategic, and sometimes manipulative individual.
Throughout the Heroes of Olympus and Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, Amber is seen not being as stoic as before but not happier. Instead, it was replaced with negative emotions. She constantly yelled about how she didn’t want to be a hero or any of this. She has gotten a lot more bitter and mean. Also, she would break down in random places and random times. It is showed that most of this is because of her yearning for Athena. She is seen constantly yelling at Percy about the fact he shouldn’t be upset for not seeing Annabeth for a week while she hadn’t seen Athena for months on end.
After all the wars and having children, Amber was shown to go back to like her younger years. Being very kind and welcoming. Although having that personality, Amber is still extremely overprotective and spiteful. Also, like in her teenage years, she is very petty.
Fatal Flaw[]
Amber's fatal flaw is either wrath from over excessive protectiveness or need for praise. The need for praise comes from her lack of a father figure in childhood. She usually seeks praise from older people. Like Athena or Chiron. Wrath comes from her blind rage. This flaw comes from the fact she went directly to Charlie after she stabbed Magnus in the shoulder. It also comes from the fact she's killed multiple cyclopes that were in the Titan Army that claimed they were Poseidon's favorite.

Amber has an intense fear of her own death. Although, she is not afraid of death itself, but first her death showed her the grief others had gone through. This intensified fear of other people’s grief led her to fear her second death.
Abilities[]
- ADHD: Amber's supernatural alertness and keen senses that keep her ready for, and alive, in battle. It also lets her analyze his opponents fighting style as well as pick up minor details about an opponent, such as where their muscles tense so she can tell which direction they will attack from.
- Dyslexia: Double Demigods, like demigods, are hard wired for a certain language. Amber's being Latin and Old Norse.
- Swordsmanship: Amber is a naturally talented swordsman. Her skills had grown from the Hunters of Artemis to currently. She is on the around the same level as her half-brother, Percy Jackson. Even while wielding the Sword of Winter, who can attack itself, she is seen using it as a sword. According to Piper and Alex, she fights like a demon. Even while only being untrained, she was able to defeat Athena in duel (Athena reassures she wasn't trying her hardest).
- Water Solidification: Amber is able to turn water into solids.
- Water Empowerment: When in contact with or in the presence of water, Amber gains a disproportionate amount of superhuman clarity, strength, speed, agility, and endurance.
- Water Immunity: If she falls from great heights into water, Amber will be unaffected by any amount of water pressure. She doesn't get wet if submerged in water unless he wants to.
- Intelligence: As a Warrior of Athena, Amber has increased intelligence.
- War Tactics: Amber is able to come up with plans of war in mere seconds.
- Weapon Conjuration: She can conjure any weapon, though she prefers to use her Trident.
- Weapon Curses: She can place curses on weapons.
- Weapon Omniscience: She knows everything about a weapon when she sees it.
- Disarmament: She can disarm her opponents with a gesture.

Amber and Athena first met when Athena introduced herself a fourteen-year-old son of Hermes and a messenger of Athena, at the time Amber was twelve-year-old Hunter of Artemis. But, Amber saw right past that façade, making Athena reveal her true form. Amber is one of the only demigods who can actually see a deity's true form. Athena dubbed Amber as one of her warriors but Amber protested, saying she was huntress. Athena left if there, leaving Amber alone.
A few decades later, Athena was shocked to figure out Amber, one of the demigods she claimed as a warrior, was a child of her rival Neptune/Poseidon. In the months between The Titan's Curse and The Battle Labyrinth, Amber and Athena met again. This meeting happened when Athena was following Amber around in her owl form. While Amber was peering at an entrance to Daedalus' labyrinth. Athena came up behind Amber, asking her if she thought it was a good idea. Amber disagreed, saying it was dangerous. Amber also mentioned she remembered Athena. Athena had laughed, offering Amber to stay at Olympus for a month. Amber took up on that offer, staying with Athena while on Olympus. At that time, Amber and Athena had gotten closer, both gaining a significant attraction to one another. But Athena didn't act on it because she was one of the more modest deities and Amber was only sixteen (Athena was chill and waited her two years). And Amber didn't act on it because she thought she was still in love with Bianca. Both of them were also afraid the other deities would look down on them for dating each other but that fear was wiped away later.
Amber and Athena share a relatively odd connection, built on trust, emotional connections, and more. Although, they have been through rough times together, ultimately, they stuck together. Amber is supposedly Athena’s “favorite mortal”.Bianca di Angelo, the daughter of Hades was Amber's first true girlfriend and Amber was Bianca's first girlfriend. They first met in the Lotus Hotel and Casino. They connected, talking to each other about everything and anything. Bianca grew up religious and Amber respected that so she only pestered and didn't actually try to get on to Bianca. After a while and after noticing her attraction to Amber, Bianca agreed, taking Amber as her girlfriend.

Amir and Amber had a love-hate relationship at first. Amber didn't really how optimist Amir was. And Amir didn't like how cold Amber was. But, after a year they were able to warm up to each other. Usually, to hang out, they read together. Also, they love giving each other book recommendations. As well as book recommendations, Amber and Amir love talking to each other in random languages like Old Norse and Arabic to confuse people.
In their friendship, Amber was the first one to approach. They met when Amber noticed Alexiel sitting alone at the Gabriel Cabin Table in the dining area. They became good friends after a while, starting to talk to each other. They both let each other vent to one other. They also like to laugh about the fact that they were stuck in a timeless spot for years. One of their favorite things to do is sneak out at night and sit on the pier, talking.
Amber and Aeyrn's meeting was a bit strange. They met when Aeryn fell out of a tree and onto Amber, who was just relaxing. Amber was extremely surprised and a bit confused. After a few seconds, Aeyrn rolled off, apologizing profusely. Amber was a bit awkward and also embarrassment, saying it was just an accident it made. She was also a bit surprised when she found out it was a child of Cernunnos. They got to talking and became friends! Also, Aeyrn was able to make Amber a wolf mask similar to it's red panda mask
Freydis and Amber first met when Amber had arrived at Loki’s palace that was currently ruled by Charlie Fierro. Amber had made it to the palace a week before Charlie. Amber had became one of Freydis’s suitors, after a few days killing all the other suitors for revenge so onto she was left for Freydis

Neptune is Amber’s Roman father. Amber stated she loved Neptune but also resented him for not telling her she was Roman. She also resents him because he left her and voted to move her from Folkvanger. But, Amber and Neptune are shown to have a good relationship, exploring Alfheim with Freyr together.
During the two months Amber stayed on Olympus, Neptune, in his Greek form, Poseidon, taught Amber how to summon the Trident of Neptune and other weapons out of water. Also during this time, he taught Amber how to make the water she controls solid but still water.

- Amberly is a a different spelling of the Arabic name Amberley that comes from the word amber which is "a precious orange-colored gem made from fossilized tree resin."
- Jackson is a common last and first name meaning "son of Jack," from English and Scottish origin
- Riddle is a name that comes from the Old English word "rdels" which is a verbal puzzle or game.
