Aella Dubois is the Greek demigod daughter of Eris and Marquel Dubois
History[]
Marquel Dubois was a notorious serial killer in the Southeast region of Ontario, Canada. Once caught and put in jail, he was sentenced to the death penalty and would remain incarcerated until the day came for his execution. But his crimes and insanity attracted the attention of Eris, goddess of chaos. Marquel was given the ability to see through the Mist and he and the goddess produced Aella
Growing Up[]
Aella grew up in an apartment where her mother would raise her. Once Aella showed signs of being able to care for herself, which she learned very early on, her mother visited less and less
School Life[]
Once she reached high school, (after the events of The Last Olympian) Aella was known as the most reserved and the weirdest kid in school. No one spoke to her or even looked in her direction
Meeting Macy MacBeth[]
A new girl moved into town by the name Macy MacBeth. Macy immediately was kind to Aella and they soon became best friends. Eventually, Macy pulled Aella aside and asked her if she was a demigod. Aella finally admitted the truth but to her relief Macy also revealed herself to be a daughter of Iris. She told Aella that she had been getting weird messages in her dreams and since her mother was once a messenger of the gods, she thought that maybe her mother was trying to tell her something. She finally figured it out when she saw Aella in her dream accompanied by another godly being, who was Eris
Journey to Camp Half-Blood[]
The two were friends for all of freshman year until Macy saw Camp Half-Blood in her dreams. She consulted her mother on it and Iris confirmed the existence of the camp. Macy told Aella that they should go there for the summer and finally Aella agreed. Macy’s father could also see through the Mist and agreed that this would be a safe place for both girls. Macy’s father took them as far as he could to ensure his safety and the girls decided to complete the rest of the journey on foot. The trek would only be about an hour but just about 10 minutes from the camp, a hellhound emerged from the darkness of the setting sun and began a chase. This hellhound was actually sent by Eris who was upset at the fact that her daughter was leaving her control. Eris had already been invading Aella’s mind during the trip, giving her terrible visions, whispering in her head, and making her chaos eyes activate without warning. The hound was sent to kill Macy and crush Aella mentally and fall back into Eris’ control. The hound pinned Macy and Aella was unable to save her. Macy told Aella to make it to camp and asked her to let her father know of her death. The hellhound then crushed Macy to death and Aella, in her rage, vowed to one day kill the hound before fleeing to camp. (This happened around the start of The Lost Hero). The camp was in the midst of dinner when a disheveled Aella approached the dining hall, crying and incoherent, begging for help. She eventually passed out from exhaustion and awoke in the Big House. There she met Jenny Beeson, daughter of Hecate, and Will Solace, son of Apollo, attempting to heal her physically and mentally. She was able to piece together her story but when getting to Macy, she began to break down, only to be calmed by a spell from Jenny
Life at Camp[]
Aella joined the Eris cabin and was ultimately the shyest and most timid Eris kid in the cabin. Her siblings though were nice to her and understood how new this was to her and how she had just come from a truly traumatizing experience
Weapon[]
Aella eventually acquired an adamantine and Imperial Gold poniard (a weapon associated with her mother), from Nyssa of the Hephaestus cabin. It’s a rare combination that stood out to Aella. Nyssa said it was “a unique dagger for a unique girl”. She named the dagger Fotiá, meaning Fire, and with the Hecate girls help, enchanted Fotiá to dissipate when not in use (the command, Makriá), appear when needed (calling its name with the command, Edó), and was enchanted with the same chaos magic that is in Aella’s eyes. When she activates her eyes, Fotiá gets activated as well
